Well, I managed to receive an A on my first project. The objectives were 1 object, goes off the paper on 3 sides, contour line use, great composition-interesting line use. We had to blow up a 2″ x 3″ piece of bread. She gave me a check + on interesting line use. ” Very fine collection of line use. Good Composition”. So I’m working on my negative space drawing this week as well as landscapes this week. I definitely need more practice on my landscapes. But I am starting to draw better, I think I just need more time to develop my skill. Will post a photo of the negative space when it is done.

More poetry
Haiku~ If I were grown
Then I could be a pastor
I could teach everyone
A Couplet~If I had lots of money
I could buy lots of honey
Free Verse
War…….
I like to play war
with my Playmobil’s
My ships have canons
That make a big “Kaboom”
I attack my enemies
With lots of men
Capturing their captain
the survivors surrender
The Pirate Skeltons seize
the day.
Yes, he was given some help, I would say the sentence he came up with and then make him fill in the blanks.

Poetry Lessons
Have been quite interesting this week. Noah had to write a quantrain~ 4 line poem that rhymed. With a bit of help he came up with this:
If I worked for CTU
I could spy on everybody…..including you
I could put you in jail
without any bail.
He now has to write a couplet ……he is definitely having trouble with rhyming……back later with his couplet.
I used to make traps
that had many gaps
Bullets
- Schooling with the kids is behind but I’m not stressing it too much
- College is still pushing me to my limits
- The husband had his hours cut at the grocery store so I’m stressing about money. He did work two weekends at the church though and moved to another store for his mag. job that pays about $10. more a week for the same amount of time.
- I’m wearing my pedometer to track my steps so I can start to lose weight.
- Kendra liked her first night of confirmation class last weds. hope that continues.

Busy week
I can’t believe how busy have been this week. School, college, the husband working so much. I had a women of the church board meeting last night. bible study today, then I rushed off to swim class. home to do school with the boys, I rewrote my article analysis for next week.(I had Pastor Doug look at it and critique it, since it was about capitalism and he was a political science major) He did and it should get me the 25 pts I need. I helped my son Darius get into his college space so we could check on his status, that is looking good except for the change in residence hasn’t come through yet with his financial aid. I also looked up classes for him to take. All of them music classes for the moment. I’m trying to get him to at least take those and then finish the general courses later. Anything to get him started.
This year in bible study we are doing the Divine Drama from Crossways it looks really good but a lot of work. We will see how long I can balance everything. I decided to take this study as it is close, fairly cheap $22.00, and I felt that I needed spiritual feeding since I’m still leading MOPS for this year and a women’s circle.
I need to get off here and do my film guide but I clipped my eye today with my goggles and now it hurts and has a nice blood spot in it. The film is online and i need to watch it again to get the answers correct. 😦 I also need to get those gesture drawings done so that they aren’t hanging over my head. I have to go buy my supplies still and won’t have time to do everything at this rate. Ok, I’m off to get something done.
Noah's story
The Swamp Thing
The swamp thing is a man. He looks scary with his pointy teeth, evil eyes and his slippery scaly green skin. He smells like a dead animal. He feels slimy like a fish. He makes groaning and bubbling noises that are scary. The swamp thing is a very scary looking man.
It all starts when I’m in my tree house near the swamp. I was drawing a picture of the swamp pond. The pond has lily pads, flowers and frogs in it. I saw the water start bubbling. The I saw the swamp man come out of the pond, he had plants on him because he had been underwater so long. I keep drawing and he looks at me. He stops and stares at me. I bring up the rope ladder so he can’t get to me. I decide to wait until he leaves. Next thing I know I hear my iphone ringing. He is trying to find out what is making that noise.
We are working on getting him to write creatively and add in similes. I made a few suggestions to this to correct the negatives. But the majority of this is his work right down to the iphone. We don’t have one but he would love it if we did.
The art lesson/writing
So today I finally got around to teaching the first art lesson in Art Adventures at Home. It was about lines and shapes. Afterwards I had to do some gesture drawings for my art drawing 1 class for college, so I showed Noah the difference between gesture and contour drawings as well as had him do one of each. He thinks it is cool to watch mom do gesture drawings. Then we had to work on his “the thing” story for SL 3 . He actually really got into story telling today. He even drew a picture for the story. We will be working on adding to it, correcting mistakes for awhile I think. When he feels it is done I will post it here for everyone to enjoy. I’m hoping to be able to do his writing and art on saturdays when there is less stress for us. It was nice to see him so excited aobut drawing and writing for a change.
