Thoughts? Still have many of those. Lately, they have been on what I want my legacy to be to my children. Do I want them to remember me for the great educational toys? the discipline? the work ethic? the homeschooling? the nature hikes? the swim lessons? No all of these things are fine and I hope that they are a part of my legacy to them. The thing I want most to leave them with is a deep relationship with the Lord.
How do I plan to go about this? Well, we try to do daily bible readings, We are teaching the children how to pray, we have talks about what we think God wants us to do in situations. Most recently, Noah asked me “If God gave me one gift what would I ask for?” After some thinking, I replied that I wanted wisdom. Then I asked him what he would ask for? He thought for a bit and then said he wanted the same thing. So we having been reading a chapter of Proverbs whenever we can. I’m hoping to get into a habit of reading a chapter a day.
My other thoughts are how to get my kids into Harvard, I know it is really hard to do but they could go for free if they can just get in. I guess I will have to go read the Colfaxes book again. I read part of it years ago when I first started homeschooling. Gosh, that would have been 17 years ago this past March. Since I’m divorced and remarried I do have a three year break in there but that means I’ve been homeschooling for a total of 14 years and counting. So now the educational goal is to get my kids into Harvard. Not a bad goal at all. I mentioned it to my older daughters and told them how I wanted them to try also. I need to research and see what they need to know.
Well, those are my current thought’s for the moment.
